How does Cargoway calculate truck-safe routes?
Cargoway uses OpenRouteService with your vehicle's specifications (weight, height, width, length) to calculate routes that avoid roads with truck restrictions such as low bridges, weight limits, and prohibited areas.
Why does the external navigator recalculate the route?
When exporting to Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze, intermediate markers are added to guide the navigator along the calculated truck route. However, the navigator may still recalculate some segments using its own algorithm, which may not account for all truck restrictions.
Is my data stored on your servers?
No. Your vehicle profiles, recent routes, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Route calculations are performed by OpenRouteService, but we do not store any of your data on our servers.
Does Cargoway work offline?
Route calculation and address search require an internet connection. However, once a route is calculated, you can export it to your preferred navigator for turn-by-turn navigation, which may support offline maps.
What is the AI route analysis?
The AI analysis feature provides an intelligent summary of your calculated route, including potential challenges, rest stop suggestions, and safety tips tailored to your vehicle type. It's optional and can be expanded by tapping the section header.
